Customs and Immigration for Penang and Malaysia

Customs

Visitors entering Malaysia through the different entrance points must declare all dutiable or prohibited goods in their possession. Entrants are legally required to cooperate with customs staff when asked to open, unpack and repack their luggage to assist with the customs inspection. This command applies to visitors arriving in Malaysia only at the first entry points.

Malaysia’s customs regulations provide strict penalties for those guilty of making false declarations or concealing any dutiable or prohibited goods.
Relevant customs regulations information can be found on the Royal Malaysian Customs Department at http://www.customs.gov.my/en
