Property Acquisition and Expansion
YBS International Bhd’s subsidiary, Oriental Fastech Manufacturing Sdn Bhd (OFM), has initiated the acquisition of Penang Science Park from Penang Development Corp (PDC) for RM24.03 million cash. The property encompasses an industrial land area of 10.03 acres, accompanied by a building structure. The proposed acquisition, subject to formal agreements, reflects OFM’s commitment to expanding its industrial presence.
Taiwan’s Elite Material Co., Ltd. (EMC) is set to invest approximately RM186 million in a new factory at Penang Science Park. The expansion aims to increase monthly production capacity to 900,000 units in two phases. The construction, commencing in Q3 2023, will span approximately 14 acres and contribute to EMC’s growth strategy. The venture underscores the park’s appeal as a catalyst for industrial advancement.
Transformation in Building Systems at Penang Science Park
Scandinavian IBS Sdn Bhd (SIBS) is propelling the construction sector forward by establishing a new plant at Penang Science Park. This strategic move is part of a RM500 million multi-phase investment to expand SIBS’s production lines to four, generating job opportunities and economic value.
